Claudia J. Joseph is an attorney and mediator with 24 years of legal experience in New Mexico. She earned her undergraduate degree in law and sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2000.  

Upon moving to Santa Fe, Claudia began her career at The Simons Firm, focusing on real property and civil litigation matters. Claudia has developed her practice in transactional property law, particularly in Northern New Mexico, addressing title issues, homeowners’ associations, easement disputes, and residential real estate transactions. Her practice areas have expanded to include business, trademark, family law and estate planning. 

Claudia has extensive training in alternative dispute resolution, including 80 hours in ADR, settlement facilitation, and family law at the University of New Mexico School of Law. She specializes in mediating disputes as a neutral third party. 

Beyond her legal practice, Claudia is dedicated to community service. She serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Women’s Law Center, contributing to the organization’s mission of uplifting women and girls in New Mexico. She proudly participated in SWLC’s successful effort to pass the Pregnant Worker Accommodation Act in the 2020 Legislative Session and continues to support the effort to pass Paid Family Medical Leave in New Mexico.  

Claudia balances her professional life with personal interests, enjoying tennis, travel, and spending quality time with her husband and their two children.
