About Tom
Tom, a Santa Fe attorney, has had an illustrious career in the field of law. With a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1973, his journey through the legal world has been nothing short of remarkable.

Tom’s career as a litigator is a testament to his passion for the law. Over the years, he has tried cases in every corner of New Mexico, earning a reputation as one of the state’s top litigators. His straightforward style and assertive approach to litigation have set a high standard in the legal community.

A Journey of Success
Tom’s journey in the legal profession has been a series of milestones. Before founding Simons Cuddy & Friedman in 1979, he served as a clerk for the Honorable William R. Hendley at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. He later became the general counsel for the New Mexico State Department of Education and was a partner at Sommer, Lawler, Scheuer & Simons.
In 2000, Tom ventured to establish The Simons Firm, LLP, where he continued to excel in his legal practice.
Beyond the Courtroom
Tom’s life extends far beyond the courtroom. Tom and his wife Susan live on a horse ranch in La Cienega, just south of Santa Fe, near their three children and eight grandchildren. His interests and passions are as diverse as they come. He’s an avid mountaineer, trail runner, horseman, fly fisherman, and accomplished woodworker. His woodworking creations have even been featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine.
